With the new year looming in the not too distant future I have taken advantage of some spare time over the holidays to (finally!) rework the site. It was a bit bumpy leading up to the end of the year for me and much too much got pushed to the backburner. Every three years I seem to catch a very nasty something or other. I suppose this is better than falling ill every year, but it was certainly not fun! I am feeling much better and am pleased to say that I can nearly carry on a full conversation without having a coughing fit. This means that I will soon be resuming my regular podcasting (yay!) after this unintented hiatus.
The Plant Parlance Posdcast will be returning and I am excited for all the amazing conversations I will have with upcoming interviewees in the new year. Some features will be returning, but there will be (ch-ch-ch-) changes with PTBO Flora too. Over the year I tested several new features, and as expected some were met with a better response than others. These trials have led to a simplification of the website and a reorientation to memberships with exclusive content.
In addition to the podcast, everybody will have access to the Flower Shop and to this (revamped) blog. PTBO Flora members will have access to an online catalogue of flora and downloadable flora guides, they will be able to submit questions for upcoming podcast guests, among other perks. Trial and yearly memberships can be purchased here. And people who become a patron on Patreon can also become members (depending on the amount you pledge).
The decision to change the focus of PTBO Flora to a membership-based site was not made hastily or lightly. Simply put, hosting costs money and it takes hundreds of hours of work to create content. This means that PTBO Flora needs your support to stay online, updated and amazing.
I hope you will become a member (and all of your friends and family too)!
