Good morning fellow flora appreciators,
This past weekend I began a revamping of existing sections of this site, added some new sections, and have started a community contest page. Take some time to explore the new and improved site if you haven't already. And I also look forward to seeing all of your wonderful submissions for that contest, it will add a flash of colour and will also be a nice break from the ever-falling-snow here in Peterborough (which I hope will all clear in time for the Spring Solstice Stroll).
I still have more up my sleeve, so please subscribe to the Peterborough Flora Compendium newsletter to stay in the loop and be the first to know.
Happy Friday fellow flora appreciators,
For many of us, this may have been the first week back to the work or school grind after the holidays: congratulations, you've made it to the week's end! I worked all through the holidays, which I didn't mind to be honest, and now I am back to class myself.
This morning I woke up to the lovely pink glow of a particularly vivid sunrise, and some fog which settled as a delicate frost which settled oh-so picture perfectly on sumac trees. After school and before work, I went out for a quick stroll in the Trent Nature Areas and it truly did feel like a winter wonderland! I was happy to have gotten out today, as apparently it's going to rain all weekend.
I will admit though, as much as I am enjoying my winter strolls...I am very much looking forward to spring and hope that the snow will be melted for the spring solstice stroll!
