I can't say whether or not we get more snow here in Peterborough, but I can see this past week has been gorgeous. I have gone out for a few hikes, and am really looking forward to the Spring Solstice Stroll this weekend.
I am also excited with trees budding, grass greening, and all the plants, lichen, fungi, and moss all starting to sprout up...like all the life on this rock in the photo to the right.
I'm a fan of spring and all the new things it brings.
The winning photo is of bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis). Like the January winner, this lovely wildflower has not yet been recorded by us and thus is missing from the compendium - something we hope to rectify this year! The photo was taken in Elm Tree (Ontario) and submitted on Facebook.
Thank you everyone for sharing your flora photos, definitely brightens up these winter days.
If you missed the contest in February no need to worry - this contest is running all year long! Get the contest details here, and share what's blooming in your area.
